With less than 3 weeks to go to the premiere of Marvels 10 year culmination, we are breaking down the latest trailer that debuted Saturday 7th April. Firstly, view the trailer below!
Beginning the trailer, we see Peter Parker's (Tom Holland) 'Spidey-Sense' come to good use here, as he picks up on the huge spaceship hovering above New York City. This scene has since been released as a clip which can be viewed here- Courtesy of Marvel Studios (Minor Spoilers)
Here we see what looks to be the transportation vessel that Thanos' 4 armed-army houses, as it lands rather aggressively in the wilderness of Wakanda- first seen in February's Black Panther.
We then get the same shot from Trailer #1 featuring (left-right) Wong (Benedict Wong), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)
Oh look who it is, our favourite anti-hero Loki, this time on the side of Thanos and his sinister Black Order- which we later see being offered the Tesseract and ultimately crushed by Thanos to neatly place in his every growing collection of Infinity Stones on his gauntlet. We are sad to presume that poor Loki won't survive much longer past this point since this is the only place we've seen him within all 3 trailers.
Here we get another look at the battle of Wakanda- the 3rd Act battle. On the left we can see the Hulkbuster (supposedly housing Bruce Banner), then to the right we can see M'Baku, Bucky (Now known as White Wolf), Captain America, Black Widow, Black Panther/T'Challa and Okoye.
Tony here, within the Sanctum Sanctorum, that the New York team are gonna need some help... now that's where these guys come in:
Our favourite/least favourite bromance is reunited as Bucky Barnes and Captain America greet each other in Wakanda, alongside Falcon, T'Challa, Okoye, Black Widow, War Machine, Bruce Banner, Vision and Scarlet Witch.
Perhaps the most powerful scene of the trailer, we see the scale of the Wakandan army lined up against the army of the mad titan that is Thanos. We cut to the incredible Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther chanting to his tribe before battle ensues.
Speaking of the mad titan, here's Josh Brolin's Thanos teleporting onto the plains of Wakanda ready to greet the battle-ready Avengers.
Here we have a continuation of a shot from Trailer 2 (which we broke-down below) which featured Bruce Banner, Black Widow and War Machine- now we know that they are accompanied by Falcon and Bucky- therefore presumably, Vision and Scarlet Witch will also be here since they were the 'Wakanda Crew'- I'm never calling them that again, don't worry.
Now, this is a very interesting scene. We obviously drawn to the wonderful Scarlett Johannson as Black Widow however look to the right, who's that on the floor being treated to by fellow soldiers? The hair looks awfully similar to T'Challa's, however we may be too early to speculate on that.
Now, another interesting scene here featuring Black Widow in combat with Proxima Midnight, it's seen in trailer 1 that Widow manages to stab Proxima Midnight with her staff that she wields- hopefully the rest of the Black Order aren't defeated this quickly.
Shuri! Our favourite princess after Leia is here and she seems to be either testing or using some new equipment on a currently unknown recipient, please say we don't lose Shuri, Marvel? Come on Kevin Feige, you're not that cruel, right?
Now THIS is a scene. What on earth is going on? Or should we say Titan? Here we see Thanos leaping spectacularly in the air, over what looks like a volcano or some form of volcanic expulsion, what he's trying to prove here is unknown but it looks crazy!.
Finally, our look at Hulk! Mark Ruffalo's Big Friendly (Green) Giant is here, and he doesn't look happy- although when does Hulk look happy?
This trailer's money shot, we can see Okoye, Black Panther, Hulkbuster, Black Widow, M'Baku, Captain America and Bucky running towards the opposition, like seen in previous trailers. This is going to be one hell of a fight. Can we also appreciate the rainbow shining on Bucky and Cap? Is that too far? Okay I'll stop.
Supposedly from the first 30 minutes of this movie, we see the new Stark suit put to work as we fly through a rapidly exploding New York street, while the new wings appear on either side of Iron Man.
After a compilation of fight scenes we see a good glimpse of Scarlet Witch in the midst of the terror that's unfolding around everyone. She seems to be pulling something down, I wonder if it's also a moon, to get back at Thanos for destroying the Titan Team- admit it, Titan Team does have a ring to it...
"We do not fight for one life, we fight for all of them!" Well said T'Challa. As the Avengers come together for one final time, it's important to remember that they are fighting for everyone, not just for themselves.
We finish with a humorous scene in which Okoye asks why they had to get involved with all this, rather, they were expecting an Olympics and perhaps a Starbucks- and after breaking down this surprisingly filled trailer, I'm in need of a Starbucks!
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this breakdown! It's greatly appreciated. Comment below your thoughts on the trailer and tell us what are you most excited about seeing in Infinity War. Come back tomorrow night for the Weekly Oddity!
