Wednesday 24th January: Deadpool 2 Trailer coming alongside Black Panther:
An official trailer for Deadpool 2 will arrive in theaters next month with Black Panther. With the Deadpool sequel now scheduled to hit the big screen in the middle of May, just two weeks after Marvel’s 'Avengers: Infinity War' it only makes sense for the film’s official trailer to hitch a ride with the first big superhero movie event of 2018.
There is currently no title for the Deadpool sequel at the moment-which could feasibly end up being called the Untitled Deadpool Movie which, going with the franchises heap of meta humour sort of has a ring to it...
Thursday 25th January: Mission Impossible VI gets official Title, Image and Synopsis:
Mission Impossible 6 now has a proper title in the form of Mission: Impossible: Fallout, along with an official synopsis and a first look image that shows Tom Cruise performing a death defying stunt in a helicopter, shown below:
The synopsis, released via Tom Cruise's Instagram Account, reads as follows:
"The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm."
Friday 26th January: Steven King's The Shining sequel 'Doctor Sleep' has director:
Director Mike Flanagan is now attached to direct Doctor Sleep, a film adaptation of Stephen King’s 2013 sequel novel to his horror/thriller classic The Shining. Flanagan is fresh off directing Netflix’s critically acclaimed movie adaptation of King’s psychological thriller Gerald’s Game, and even expressed his desire to adapt King’s Shining sequel in an interview late last year.
Deadline are reporting that Flanagan has now been set to direct Doctor Sleep for Warner Brothers, and will rewrite the earlier script draft for the film penned by Akiva Goldsman who is still serving as an exec. producer. Flanagan and his producing partner Trevor Macy are currently filming The Haunting of Hill House TV series for Netflix, but it seems like Doctor Sleep will be the next project that the duo work on after that.
The description of the film is as follows: "Doctor Sleep picks up with a forty-something Danny Torrance, now struggling with the same alcoholism that haunted his father, in addition to the lingering trauma from his childhood and the supernatural visions that he experienced while “shining” as a boy. Despite his best efforts to lead a quiet life providing comfort for the dying at a small town hospice in New Hampshire (and drinking in order to suppress his psychic abilities), Danny’s existence is disrupted yet again when he is contacted by a young teenager named Abra Stone – whose own “shining” abilities have made her the target of a dangerous cult that possess un-natural powers of their own."
Saturday 27th January: Teaser trailer for Netflix's 'Mute' released:
In a Berlin of the future, a mute bartender's search for his missing lady-love takes him deeper and deeper into the city's criminal underbelly.
Alexander Skarsgard stars as Leo Beiler a mute bartender who is going up against gangsters and black market surgeons in the futuristic, neon-drenched city of Berlin.
Mute has been described by Jones himself as a futuristic, science fiction style Casablanca crossed with the neo-noir stylings of Blade Runner and more recently, Ghost in the Shell, which are the rather obvious connections here.
Sunday 28th January: Tom Hardy's Venom filming could be complete:
Tom Hardy posted a photo to Instagram of himself in what appears to be a hair and makeup trailer on the set of Venom. The photo doesn’t reveal anything new about Hardy’s Eddie Brock and the caption is confusingly lacking in punctuation, but the post seems to indicate Venom has wrapped filming. Take a look at the Instagram post:
Intriguing Tom, very intriguing....
