The first trailer has arrived for Eli Roth’s family-friendly fantasy horror adventure, The House with a Clock in its wall. The movie is based on the book by John Bellair, which features illustrations by famous gothic literary artist Edward Gorery.
Indiana Jones 5 is on-schedule to begin filming in the spring of 2019. The confirmation came from the legendary director Steven Spielberg, who has directed every movie in the beloved Indiana Jones franchise to date and is on-board to direct the upcoming fifth film.
The fifth Indy film is only one of the projects on Spielberg’s plate. In addition to Indy 5 and the upcoming film adaptation of the book Ready Player One, Spielberg is said to have begun casting for a new film adaptation of the classic Broadway musical West Side Story.
It’s also been confirmed Spielberg’s frequent collaborator George Lucas (Star Wars) will not be working on the story and despite earlier reports that the new Indy movie could be a reboot that would place a new actor- rumoured to be Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy)- in Indy’s trademark fedora and leather jacket, Harrison Ford is reprising the role for what seems to be the final time.
The first official logo for Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Shazam! is here. In an effort to further expand the DC movie universe, WB is looking beyond the Justice League. Directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out), Shazam! will tell the tale of young Billy Batson being granted the powers of the superhero Shazam.
Star Zachary Levi has been spotted multiple times in his Shazam costume on the film’s set, now that production is fully underway. Videos have also leaked from the Shazam! set, showing the eponymous superhero in battle with the villainous Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong).

The writers of Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War have spoken out about the structural decisions surrounding the epic movie coming out this April. In an interview, they spoke:
STEPHEN MCFEELY: They’re still spread out. Remember, one of our jobs, we’re big structure guys. So if you go back and look at Winter Soldier and Civil War particularly, they are, whether you like the movies are not, they’re pretty well structured. Big choices have been made. We had to do the same thing here and yet we had 6 MacGuffins – it can be relentless if you do this right-which means, every time you collect [an Infinity Stone] – I don’t mean to get into the screenwriting weeds – but every time you collect one, it can’t just be a check mark. It has to do something characterful. It’s got to move the plot forward but it also has to have stakes and cost for literal characters at the time, so that it’s not just a shopping spree. And I think we’ve done that and boy, we’re going to wrench some emotion out of each and every one of those moments that we can.
Chris Evans confirms he really is done with playing Captain America after the Russo Brothers’ Untitled Avengers 4. The 36-year-old had already teased that the end of Phase 3 could mark the end of his time in the MCU, and it looks like fans now have it in writing.
Speaking to the The New York Times, Evans dashed hopes that he will be renewing his contract for Phase 4 and beyond. Confirming that he has finished filming his scenes as Captain America baring reshoots, he had a pretty frank answer to how it feels playing the fan-favorite character time and again:
“You want to get off the train before they push you off.”
John Boyega offers a brief tease of Star Wars: Episode IX, promising the movie won’t hold back in its depiction of the war between the First Order and the fledgling Rebellion. The actor who plays Finn in the franchise stated:
“Next for me filming wise is Star Wars: Episode IX in July, and they’ve officially given us a note to start training soon. I’m going to take a holiday before that, because I think Episode IX you know, regardless of where the story goes, and I haven’t read it by the way, is going to be all out war so I know that I’m going to have to do all I can and train for that.”
With Infinity War just around the corner, we have been teased more TV Spots and Clips to whet our appetite for the event of the year. View them all below!
Marvel’s Black Panther has now passed Star Wars: The Last Jedi at the domestic box office. That’s a milestone no one would’ve considered achievable just a few months ago. But Black Panther – directed by Ryan Coogler and based on a script by Coogler and screenwriter Joe Robert Cole, and starring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther – has proven time and again that it’s a movie that will continue to be remembered and talked about for a long time to come.
Black Panther has earned $618.64 million as of Friday, March 23, which is $1.25 million shy of the final tally for Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($619.89 million).

Deadpool 2 hits theatres 18th May 2018. View the trailer above.
Due to having covered most of the ins-and-outs of the Deadpool 2 movie in the previous trailer (Deadpool, Meet Cable) we've condensed the breakdown here to cover the bits we haven't seen from previous footage.
The foul mouthed anti-hero is back with a bang and scored to a rendition of Air Supply’s “All Out of Love,” the trailer begins with Wade Wilson’s alter ego, Deadpool, crash landing into our favourite taxi driver, Dopinder's, cab.
Following an action-packed sequence, Wilson barges into his fiancee Vanessa’s (Morena Baccarin) apartment and with an excuse and a passionate smooch, we get straight into the action.
WADE: "Sorry I’m late, I was rounding up all the gluten in the world and launching it into space where it can’t not hurt us ever again."
The powerful Cable, played by Josh Brolin (Infinity War), then makes a bold entrance-previously seen in the 'Deadpool, Meet Cable' trailer which we broke down here: deadpool-meet-cable-trailer-breakdown.html
CABLE: "I’m here for the kid."
WADE: "I ain’t letting Cable kill this kid"
Wade/ Deadpool then goes on to begin assembling a "super duper fucking group" who will be known as "X-Force"- which we previously (correctly) theorised to include characters such as Shatterstar as they take on Brolin's baddie, Cable.
WADE: "Doing the right thing is messy, but if you want to fight for what’s right, sometimes you have to fight dirty. And that is why ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ is pure pornography."
Also starring in the currently untitled "Deadpool 2" is Zazie Beetz, who plays Domino- and since said to get considerably more screen time after recent reshoots (which we talk about in the below Weekly Oddity), and Brianna Hildebrand as the Negasonic Teenage Warhead Reynolds’ character teamed up with at the end of the first film. Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams, and Stefan Kapicic will also return for the sequel.
However before seeing Josh Brolin as Cable, us comic-book lovers can see him play the villain Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War which we have extensively covered in recent days since the release of the second trailer.

Former Doctor in BBC Sci-Fi show 'Doctor Who', Christopher Eccleston has made clear how the show 'nearly destroyed his career' and that G.I Joe and Thor: The Dark World made him 'want to cut my throat'
In an interview with The Guardian (UK Newspaper), he states:
“Working on something like GI Joe was horrendous. I just wanted to cut my throat every day. And Thor? Just a gun in your mouth. Gone in 60 Seconds was a good experience. Nic Cage is a gentleman and fantastic actor. But GI Joe and Thor were … I really paid for being a whore those times.”
Not one to mince his words, Eccleston has already drawn some controversy in the past for leaving Doctor Who after one season in 2005 after he claimed to have multiple disputes while on the show, and later for declining to make a cameo in the 50th anniversary special The Day Of The Doctor. While the actor has spoken positively of working with the cast and crew, he didn’t seem to like the corporate environment surrounding the show. In The Guardian interview, he also explains he was essentially "blacklist" by the BBC for departing the show, which is part of the reason he went to America to work on movies like Thor: The Dark World in the first place.
Filmmaker Tommy Wiseau has taken on the role of The Joker, albeit as part of an open audition tape. Best known for his work on the 2003 cult classic film The Room, Wiseau saw his star rise last year in the wake of the release of The Disaster Artist, which was based around the making of The Room and featured James Franco playing the infamous Tommy Wiseau. Since its release, Wiseau has begun to (very publicly) lobby for the role of The Joker, who is set to star in a solo film by director Todd Phillips.
The audition tape can be viewed here:
However, this seems unlikely to come to any fruition as in addition to managing his line of underwear, Wiseau is also reportedly hard at work on adapting The Room into a Broadway stage-play.
Early last month, Josh Brolin (Cable) announced that he was coming back on set for Deadpool 2 re-shoots. At the time, no one viewed the matter as a cause for concern considering how the actor shared the news. However, early this week, speculation started to go around online that the Ryan Reynolds-led film wasn’t testing well – causing us fans to be worried. However, these rumours were later quashed and it seems these re-shoots are to merely add more Cable and Zazie Beets' Domino.
The full statement can be read here:
“Both crowds in these screenings said they love Josh Brolin as Cable, they love Domino, but that they would like to see more of both characters in the movie. This is obviously not talking about other things that we’re not allowed to talk about… The two main things were Cable, Domino, everyone loved both characters, they wanted to see more. So when everyone in an audience gives notes and says ‘we want more Domino, we want more Cable,’ the smart play for the studio is, especially in the competitive summer is, ‘okay, how can we do that? how can we add these characters?’ So what happened was in February or whenever it was, they did additional photography, where, guess what, they added Cable, or more Cable and they added more Domino. And so that’s the main thing about the additional photography. There was no train-wreck.”
There were already rumours that Danny Boyle had landed the job as director for Bond 25, however speaking at a special screening for his new FX show Trust, he told the press that Bond 25 is next on his list:
"We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now. We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”
After Spectre's mixed reactions, how this final instalment for the Daniel Craig saga wraps us has a lot to accomplish.
Ava DuVernay ('A Wrinkle In Time') is set to join the DC universe by directing New Gods. She confirmed this via her twitter page. Deadline reports Ava DuVernay will direct New Gods for WB next year, and with her deal closing, they will now look to find a screenwriter to help bring DuVernay’s vision to life. In the Justice League, the film’s main villain Steppenwolf and his treasured Mother Boxes all came from the New Gods.
The New Gods were created by Jack Kirby and include such iconic characters like Darkseid and Big Barda – a personal favorite comic book character for DuVernay. She became the first female of colour to ever direct a movie with a budget over $100 million thanks to A Wrinkle In Time.
Avengers: Infinity War will be a “mind-blowingly epic” film that will take audiences straight to the action, according to Doctor Strange himself, Benedict Cumberbatch. Bringing together most of the MCU, namely the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, it will also bring together relative newcomers such as Spider-Man, Doctor-Strange, Black Panther and Ant-Man- the New Avengers. The latest Avengers 3 trailer gave us a closer look at Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet as well as some of the aforementioned superheroes teaming up, promising a film like audiences have never seen before- the breakdown of which you can see here: avengers-infinity-war-trailer-2-breakdown.html
When asked what he thought when reading the script, he states: “Well, that’s a loaded question, because I’m not supposed to have read the script. But I have. It’s just mind-blowingly epic. What I thought is, this just doesn’t stop. Once it starts, it does. Not. Stop. It’s just this horrible, brilliant, terrifying, at times funny, at times very moving, relentless action. It’s like everyone’s constantly in crisis, and catching up with themselves, and it’s really breathless to read a script like that. This isn’t a slow burn. You’re really thrown in helter-skelter. [Laughs] It’s got a lot of facets to it, but I think the main one for me was just how utterly relentless the events and action were”.
In just a few hours, Avengers: Infinity War quickly broke the record for best-selling superhero movie ever in advanced ticket sales. The anticipation for Infinity War is on another level when compared to fellow blockbusters. Marvel Studios has been building towards the epic team-up for 10 years, and now they’re entering the final few days and weeks of marketing.
Deadline reports Avengers: Infinity War quickly became the best-selling superhero movie for Fandango in just six hours. That is all the time it needed to surpass every other MCU movie, including the most recent one to hold this title, Black Panther, as well as Warner Bros.’ Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which held the all-time record.
When Black Panther‘s pre-sales matched Captain America: Civil War, many were hesitant to think it would actually surpass its opening weekend. If it only took six hours to top Black Panther (a film that opened over $200M domestically and has since earned over $1B) and every other MCU movie, Infinity War could be poised to do ridiculously high numbers.
Do you think Avengers: Infinity War could beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens at it's opening weekend? Let us know!

View the brand new trailer here:
Let's delve deep into this trailer and see what it has to truly offer.
We begin with the disorientating shot of Manhattan. In the background (scaled up for your ease), is Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) with new boosters, which we see later in the trailer.
It is likely that this is Iron Man heading towards the ring that is floating in the sky, something which Tom Holland's Peter Parker/Spiderman seems to take a keen interest in.
GAMORA: "The entire time I knew him, he only ever had one goal"
We then see Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Rhody/War Machine (Don Cheadle) standing in what looks to be the same place that we saw Thor in Trailer #1. How these all come together is a question we are all asking and anticipating.
GAMORA: "To wipe out half the Universe"
Benedict Cumberbatch's Dr. Stephen Strange's residence, the Sactum Sanctorum is witnessed here, with the reflection of Iron Man in the distance flying across the Eye of Agamotto themed window.
Thanos (Josh Brolin) casually drops the second Infinity Stone into his gauntlet. It's seen that later in the trailer, the final fight will see Thanos still only wielding 2 of the 6 Infinity Stones.
GAMORA: "If he gets all the Infinity Stones, he can do it with the snap of his fingers"
Gamora, portrayed by Zoe Saldana, re-enacts this snapping motion as she talks to the Guardians of the Galaxy.
GAMORA: "...Just like that"
Thanos is here seen wielding the Gauntlet and armour that is better seen later within the trailer. It's presumed that Brolin's Thanos will go around the locations of the Infinity Stones and destroy anything in its path in order to acquire them.
TONY STARK: "Tell me his name again?"
With a quick flash of the Marvel logo, we are greeted to an extension of the Trailer #1 scene featuring Tom Holland's Spiderman. He jumps out of the school bus and swings across the bridge that the bus was travelling along.
In the next shot, we get a better look at the currently unnamed spinning wheel of doom, that flies above the skies of New York.
TONY STARK: "We got one advantage"
As quoted before (see above) we have Iron Man (Tony Stark) flying towards one of Thanos' ships which later becomes much easier as his boots mould to form a large booster that propels him through the air.
TONY STARK: "He's [Thanos is] coming to us"
We see Dr Strange here wielding the Eye of Agamotto, behind him, the wreckage that a certain Hulk sized person left behind after crashing down to Earth from a spaceship.
In the forestry of Wakanda, home to King T'Challa, we see Scarlet Witch/ Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and The Vision (Paul Bettany) of whom has a certain Infinity Stone slap bang in the centre of his forehead- which we do see get extracted in Trailer #1
TONY STARK: "We have what Thanos wants, so that's what we is"
Back to the world of Wakanda now, as we see King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) alongside Danai Gurira who plays Okoye. In the foreground we see Black Widow and Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)
We here have plenty of Avengers to satisfy your needs, Captain America, Black Widow, Rhody, Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Bruce Banner, Wanda, The Vision and M'Baku (Winston Duke)- along with King T'Challa aka Black Panther.
From royalty to rogues, we see the Guardians of the Galaxy team come down their ship and into a vast room which later is lit with the lightning of Thor's new hammer. In this scene we see Star Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora and Drax (Dave Bautista)
PETER QUILL: "Let's talk about this plan of yours.."
We now see Peter Quill interacting with Iron Man, Drax and Spiderman on Titan- Thanos' home world. In the comics, The titans are a race of the Eternals. Said to be the success of the Celestial's experiments, the Eternals can all join the Uni-Mind. They also choose their abilities to accelerate in and have longevity.
PETER QUILL: "It's good, except, it sucks, so let me do the plan and that way, it might be really good"
IRON MAN: "...Wow."
We get a quick glimpse at Spidey's Iron Spider suit that has been teased over the trailers released. And we then get a better look at the team we have in Wakanda, as they fire over towards Thanos' extraordinarily large army.
This scene really has a feel of scale towards it as they 'ride' into battle.
We see a really cool shot of the upgraded hulkbuster suit, which we imagine Bruce is in, as team Iron Man has not been shown to be in the battle of Wakanda yet.
We now arguably see one of the best shots of the trailer as Thor summons his lightening as Rocket and Groot look speechless.
Thanos:"The end is near"
In this scene we see Thanos offering his hand to Gamora. This will be here backstory. As he is in full armour it shows that he has invaded and attacked this planet, which is why you can see green skinned aliens standing behind the chitauri guards. It is really bizarre how willingly Gamora accepts Thanos.
Thanos:"When I'm done half of humanity will still exist"
This is one of the most saddest moment of the trailer. The Avengers "second strongest Avenger" is in the most pain we have ever seen him in. This moment truly shows the power Thanos has as he has now power whatsoever over him.
Personally my favourite shot from the whole trailer. This depicts the bad guys which are going to be challenging the Avengers. They go by the name Black Order and is consisted of Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian (originally called Black Dwarf in the comics). Supergiant is not present here and it is unclear whether she is in the movie or not. It also looks like Loki has turned to the bad side again.
This next scene is interesting as we see Thanos crushing the Tesseract. This could mean that either Loki didn't betray the heroes but was tracked down by Thanos and forcefully removed it from Loki or he just switched sides yet again to the side he believes will win as he has no loyalty.
There is an overhead shot of the Chitauri attacking Wakanda. Due to Wakanda being extremely advanced their defences are holding up very well. There could be multiple reasons why it is being attacked. Maybe it is because that is where the soul stone is? Or maybe it is because that is where Vision is and they're attacking Wakanda to try and get the mind stone of his head.
Probably the scariest part of the trailer. We see Doctor Strange being dominated by a member of the Black Order, which is implied to be Ebony Maw, the master of manipulation. This scene is very creepy and makes us worried about how Doctor Strange will be affected by this encounter. Just before this we see StarLord jumping around on magic that Doctor Strange conjures up during an action sequence.
Thanos: "Perfectly balanced as all things should be"
We get a quick glimpse of Thanos talking, then Iron man with his suit half destroyed and Thanos jumping towards him. Then it shows Captain America trying to hold back Thanos' hand. He gives Cap a confused look. This could be for multiple reasons, as he could be impressed as to how strong Cap is, or the more likely option is that Thanos is confused as to why someone so inferior to him even considered trying to hold him back.
Thanos: "I hope they remember you"
This is the first time we see these two interact. In a previous interview Benedict Cumberbatch said that these two become really good friends so this is only the beginning of hopefully a long lasting friendship. We also see some cool moves by Spiderman as he dodges rubble.
Spiderman: "I'm Peter by the way"
Doctor Strange:" Doctor Strange"
Spiderman:" Oh are we using our made up names? Then i am Spiderman"
This certainly put a smile of our faces! We cannot believe how good this movie is shaping up to be and its only the first part! We highly appreciate you checking out the trailer breakdown and we would be thankful if you returned for the Weekly Oddity on Sunday.
